A wonderful vintage for Shaw + Smith Shiraz, highlighting their continued mastery of the cool-climate Adelaide Hills style. It’s heady in aromatics, spicy and gamey, but not left wanting for depth of fruit. It packs rich, brambly berries and darker plum characters, with a finish that builds wonderfully with savoury growth, exotically spiced intrigue and a solid tannic backbone. It’s certainly a wine to suggest how chronically underrated Adelaide Hills Shiraz is.
